applying Base Gel/Rubber Base Gel For Nails

What Is Base Gel/Rubber Base Gel For Nails

Base gel &Rubber base gel are all base coat for gel nails. Both of them add the adhension of gel nails. They are the first coat directly applied on the nails. There are some differences between the two.

Provides adhesion for nail products.

Base coat is the first layer applied directly to the natural nail, and it plays a crucial role in the adhesion and durability of your manicure. If you skip the base coat and apply color gel or top coat directly to the nail, your manicure may not last as long and is more likely to lift or peel off.

The Differences of adhesion :

1.Regular base coat has a similar level of adhesion to rubber base gel. It usually has a thinner consistency and higher fluidity, making it easy to spread evenly across the nail surface. A thin layer is all you need.

2.Rubber base gel has a thicker consistency and is slightly less fluid. It can be applied more generously to uneven areas to help level the nail surface and create a smoother finish.

Provides cushioning for nails.

The bond between gel and the natural nail is generally weaker than the bond between gel layers. Therefore, the base coat acts as an intermediate layer between the natural nail and the other products, providing some cushioning. Among functional gels, base coat has a relatively soft texture, allowing it to conform more closely to the natural nail after curing.

The Differences of cushining :

Regular base coat provides limited cushioning, making it less suitable for thin, soft nails. When the nails are under stress, the natural nail and the gel may deform differently, creating tension between the two layers and causing the gel to separate from the nail.

Compared to regular base coat, rubber base gel provides better cushioning and remains flexible after curing, making it suitable for thin, soft nails and helping reduce the risk of lifting and peeling.

Levels the nail surface / makes nails stronger.

Base coat has some leveling properties, but its effect is limited. It can help smooth the nail surface, while its adhesive properties can provide minor reinforcement to small cracks, helping make the nails stronger.

The Difference of makeing nails stronger :

Due to its thin consistency and high fluidity, regular base coat can smooth out minor imperfections on the nail surface with minimal visible buildup, helping restore a more even surface. However, regular base coat should not be applied too thickly, as it may shrink or pull away during curing, which limits its leveling ability.

Rubber base gel can be applied in slightly thicker layers. If the base gel also has builder gel properties, you can use a self-leveling or builder technique to create a smooth nail surface or a natural arch, helping reinforce the nails and improve their structural strength.
